Photo-sharing sites will be a new source of holiday traffic for certain retailers. Pinterest has emerged as a serious contender to Facebook in driving visitors to apparel sites. Also, Pinterest users seem to be very heavy spenders, according to Andrew Lipman, vice president of industry analysis at comScore.



Pinterest has become in the perfect social network for Travel industry. In fact, last week ‘travelling’ is the second Trending topic on Pinterest, just behind ‘cooking’.


80 percent Pinterest users had a bachelor’s degree or higher, most of them are midwestern females aged 25-44. Many consumer goods and retail companies would describe this demographic as their sweet spot.
